Mary-Allen

Well, today was interesting. This whole week has been pretty interesting in fact.

I got in touch with Ann-Marie to see if she could get me some extra Faire posters for Alex (since she made the dress the queen is wearing in the foreground). She countered my request by asking if I wanted to go to this studio tour that's going on this weekend. The 16th annual Mary-Allen Studio Tour to be precise. Two people she knows through the Faire were exhibiting.

And it's a really neat tour. All local artist, and most of the tour is through the artists' homes. So we got to see some really neat artwork and got to snoop around peoples' houses as well (it's a bit of a guilty pleasure), in a big loop around Uptown. It's still on tomorrow if local people are interested.

Jenning stopped by on his way through town and we did a quick tour of the campus and met up with John (eventually) for dinner. We got to catch him up (ie. gripe) about the last four or so years of CTRL-A. It was, actually, nice seeing him again. He's invited us by his place around Thanksgiving. Apparently he has all of Legend of the Galactic Heroes (badly subtitled, but still subtitled) and he's willing to share.

Tomorrow I have to get an oil change and also figure out how six wildly dysfunctional bounty hunters happen to be hunting together. That's going to be a bit of a trick.

OK, so I followed everything except for the end. And no, I know what an oil change is ^_^

I've started up a GURPS campaign with a few friends. The group got a little bigger than I'd planned and it's pretty apparently none of us are really experienced roleplayers (I have aspirations, but hell, it's been ten years).

The campaign's based on Cowboy Bebop. Hence the bounty hunters. I'm not entirely convinced that any of the characters are terribly interested in bounty hunting, though...

It'd be way cooler to be a bounty and desperately try and avoid capture.

Bonus points for cute loli characters hounded by interplanetary police!

Could work for one (maybe two) players. Probably not for 6. (I'll disregard "cute loli characters" for now...) Then again, I'm not sure plain old bounty hunting doesn't start to fall apart around 5 or 6 people. We'll find out, I guess.
