I had a late start this morning. It didn't help I got distracted reading a review of Sims 2 on Ars which got me into work a bit later than was strictly necessary.

I've started up a role-playing campaign. I believe this is a Good Thing, as I really don't do a heck of a lot on weeknights, and I think it's a good idea to have a regular thing to go to. (That sounds like I'm a widower in a nursing home or something. But we're focusing on this being a Good Thing! So I'll stop that). Tomorrow is our regular game night. Or it would be, except I just realized today that this "team event" which turned out to also be tomorrow (I've been busy so I haven't been keeping track of extraneous work things) also happens to run until 7:30 or 8, which means I won't get back into town until long after game night would be over. So I rescheduled.

Game night will be Thursday instead. I think that's going to be okay with everybody.

I had to take my car in for servicing. I was going to do that Thursday. But with game night on Thursday, I had to do that tonight. While I was expecting just an oil change, it turned out I needed a full servicing... thing. So that took a lot longer than I had banked on. But it did mean, while I was wandering around Fairview Rd waiting for them to finish, I did figure out how my Thursday adventure is going to end (provided the players don't make it end differently, of course).

It's been a long day. Fun party and stuff aside, tomorrow will probably be long too. Thursday should be nice, though.

Friday I'll be heading back to Belleville for the weekend. I have to pick up my sister at the bus station, and she won't get in till fairly late. We probably won't get home till after midnight. One, maybe. So Friday's going to be a long day too.

Gosh, want to send some of that free time over my way? Life has been tossing some major unexpecteds our way--for example, on Monday Jr. got recruited to play for an elite state-wide team for the 2004-05 season. Friday we leave for Vancouver for a three day tournament. She hasn't even got her jersey yet...

By the way, did you ever see that movie "The Triplets of Belleville"? I just saw the DVD with a friend a few weeks ago. We were both on the floor laughing. Great film, especially for anyone who cycles.

Would that I could. I'm sure others could put it to much better use.

Yay for jr, though. Did she try out, or did mysterious men in suits and dark sunglasses just show up and tap her? That sounds kinda cool, actually.

Yup, I've seen les Triplettes. :) I have the DVD, too, though I haven't watched it yet. Lovely little movie, that is.
