Emu: The Meat of the Future

House-hunting continues. I went at looked at two places at lunch, both in Lakeshore North (a subdivision bordered by Northfield and Weber, the conservation area and Waterloo's northern border... ie., near my aparment). The first was a pretty nice place. Needed new carpet in spots and the colour choices they made to "spruce up the place" for resale were a bit questionable, but it's just bigger and more expensive than I need. The second was a decent enough little semi with lots of space on the main floor, but the owner (who seemed to be a RIM employee) had converted the basement into apartments. And the basement smelt of mildew, which is never good. Good price, and, I have to admit, the main floor alone is probably worth it. I just don't know if I'm motivated to put the work into it.

Sadly, my weekly role-playing thing seems to have fallen apart. Somebody was telling me recently that campaigns never seem to make it past three games. That's the hump you have to get over to make it a real campaign, anyway. We hit that wall. I'm trying to revive it, but I think I'm going to switch from GURPS Bebop to GURPS Dalek Killer. Because... well because. It's my game. Bebop was a little overly ambitious of me, I think. A D-K campaign would be (a) much easier to pull off in practical terms and (b) slightly more self-motivating. Not only would I have the campaign, which is cool and all, but I'd also have stuff to (finally) put up on the website. I've been meaning to get back to that for a while.

Finally.. I know a lot of people are having a tough time of things lately. I hope things get better for you soon...
