back to normal (?)Oh glee! When I got back Sunday, my Amiga Forever CD was waiting for me. It's so awesome! The new version makes floppy disk noises when it's loading a floppy image! That's so adorable! I even hooked up my sister's crappy PC gamepad just so I could play Galaga Deluxe again (and lose badly). It's got a bunch of wonderfully nostalgic video clips, like one from the launch of the Amiga 1000 (in 1985). The tragic irony of it all made me cry. But it's so cool! And I was surprised to discover that they made it a bootable CD. It's a KNOPPIX disc that boots into Workbench 3.x on the Linux version of UAE. AWeb crashed with a guru meditation error on the first page I tried to load! Ah, bliss! But enough of that. Work sucked yesterday and it's going to suck again today. Problems I thought I solved months ago are cropping up again in testing. The architect attached to this project (who is actually a great guy) won't let me get away with making this thing merely (a lot) better than the last version and wants me to redesign some things at this late stage, and the new release date is the end of the month, 9 working days away. (The old deadline was while I was in Vancouver, so I was really hoping this whole business would be magically done and over with by the time I got back). I'm not giving up AN to work on this thing. I'll probably have to work nights, though. And I really just want to move on to the next thing. Despite all that, I'm actually in a pretty good mood. I'm really looking forward to AN. I think it's going to be nifty. comments:
