fruit flies like a bananaAh, today's the last CTRL-A meeting. I used to have my whole biological rhythm set up for UW terms. Now they just fly by unnoticed. I suppose it's good that time seems to be moving faster, since I'm like, you know, happier and stuff, except that there are things I feel I really ought to be doing, but never manage to do. That last part's a bit distressing. Theother reason tonight's meeting gives me pause is because I seem to have lost track of my DVDs for the club. It was pretty inevitable, really. Good thing I kept packing slips and credit card bills. I just hope somebody else knows what's going on. My server's back up and running. It's back up on OpenBSD, and two versions later, which is good. I'm still getting samba problems, which isn't good. I might have to switch back to Linux for real, but not till after Christmas, I think. I've started my Christmas shopping in earnest. I suppose that's a good thing. I've got my sisters done already, which never happens. Now I'm a bit stuck for everybody else. I'll procrastinate on it, and it'll work out in the end like always, I'm sure. Friday was the company Christmas party, which I just wasn't in the mood for. It didn't help that I'd left most of my dressy clothes in Belleville. I was going to use that as an excuse not to go, but then I figured I'd just be even more miserable if I sat around all evening feeling sorry for myself. So I went to the mall and bought a couple sweaters. I intended to buy a sports jacket, but I have no idea what size I am and really didn't want to have to deal with salespeople. Besides, those things are kinda expensive, even on sale. So I took the sweaters home and put them on over a dress shirt and tie. They looked hideous, so I just discarded the sweater idea and stuck with the shirt and tie, which wasn't so bad. I don't know what it is with these things. I mean, I like the people I work with. I just find it hard to come up with things to talk about in a non-work context. The fact that I'm practically the only single person in the room doesn't really help matters. The food was good, though. I'd say I was seriously considering not going next year, except that I kinda feel I have to go, since it'll be my five year presentation thing. That, in itself, is a bit distressing. comments:
