the other architectI should really catch up on my DVDs. I have a bunch I haven't watched yet, which is a bit shameful, I figure. I sat down tonight and watched the first 10 episodes of Crest of the Stars. I'd seen the first four episodes up to a half-dozen times, but nothing much beyond that. Maybe pieces here and there. Yes, CTRL-A showed it, but I wasn't watching much at that point. I think I saw a couple epsiodes of Banner of the Stars, but I'm not sure where they fit in. Taking the time to actually watch it, I'm liking it a lot. I kind of figured I would.
I kind of promised a follow-up to the work story, but there hasn't been one yet, really. I talked it over with the people I immediately worked with and we all decided on what was most reasonable, so I'm going ahead with that. Monday, The Other Architect (officially "architect," but outside his particular area (AS/400 development), he's more of a technical project manager, I guess. He's the one heading up this whole mess) is coming into Waterloo from Chicago. That means lots of meetings. I'm sure there will be a big, long, horrible meeting for my thing. Hopefully we can convince the architects we actually know what we're doing. I'd like to convince them that their proposal is entirely unfeasible, but I've learned that never works. Not that they're unreasonable people, just that they're people. comments:
