waking from a restless sleep

I've been sick with a cold for the last few days. This is bad. I have a rather immovable deadline on Thursday and progress has been slow. Progress has been even slower since I can't manage to think straight.

Today I'm feeling a bit better, and starting to get a grasp on all the dumb things my sick-addled brains has done in its attempts to get things done. Coding, unfortunately, doesn't require an enormous amount of brain power. Debugging, however, does. It was a valiant show of determination on my part, but for the amount I actually got done in terms of useful work, I probably should have stayed home these last few days. This has been noted for similar situations in the future.

I got the last episode of the Dalek Empire series in the mail last week. I finished listening to it in the car today. I have to say I was well pleased. The surprise ending was wonderful, if a bit abrupt (like the ending to War of the Worlds, in a way). I won't spoil it for you, as I'm sure you're all eager to order it for yourself. I really should write Big Finish a thank you letter (mentioning off-hand that it would be a very good idea for them to do an Abslom Daak play one of these days...). I love audio dramas. It's a shame that it seems to be a lost art in this part of the world.

Golly, Squirrel, did you have a sex change operation? You never said, maybe that's why your immunity is suceptible just now? Er. ... You're right about audio dramas being few and far between, although audiobooks are wildly popular these days. I have an original BBC radio drama of Star Wars, quite a bit different listening from the soundtrack! Speaking of soundtracks, did you hear the John Williams' composition for the Olympics? Faint strains of the music from some of his other famous works hiding within the melodies, making it another signature piece. Still, that man is such a phenom, I'm gonna cry when he dies...
