is this thing on?
Just wondering... Is anyone still reading this?
I'm asking because I'm trying to figure out what to do with this thing. Because, while it was a fun project 5+ years ago, having my own, homebrew blog seems kinda dull and passé nowadays.
I do most of my blogging over at my livejournal nowadays. I know, I know. Livejournals aren't cool. They're for suicidal, 14-year-old emo kids. And I admit, I do kinda want something that's a bit more... I dunno... professional. Something public-facing. Something not quite as insular and friends-oriented as the livejournal that I could get linked up to things. Something I wouldn't mind people stumbling upon via Google. That sort of thing.
I have been mirroring specific livejournal posts here, with a handly little script I wrote. It's not automated yet, so it's kind of a pain. I'm also considering replacing the link blog to the right with something backed by del.icio.us, which has everything I want in a link blog thing except for comments. I've switched my lj linkblog feed over already. I'm contemplating how I'll get all this to work, pondering a possible switch to WordPress or something and then it struck me...
Is anybody reading this? Should I be going to the effort? Or should I just let it languish until I'm really inspired. Which probably means a lot of languishing.
Your feedback is appreciated.

Well, *yeah*! *I* am! I even follow your links sometimes. Is Lupa really that hot?? And did any of those links actually show her?
Do you know you've only posted 21 entries for 2006? But I've got this site on my browser bar for easy access so I can check every day. Just in case. And sometimes I'm rewarded...
:D
(btw, my daughter & I went to New Jersey last month. I would've waved to the north to you as we approached the east coast region, but it was a very long flight which made me tired, plus it was dark by then...and frankly, I had no idea which side of the plane WAS north. Guess I'm aviationally directionally challenged. lol!)

Oh, hey--didn't know about the livejournal entries. Wow. No wonder you hardly post here any more! Guess I'll have to add *that* one to my browser bar, too. Obviously I have some catching up to do...it'll give me something to read in between the astrology blogs and sites...

Oh, *Luba*. From the "Great Internet Porn-off" thing. And no, none of the thumbnails went to actual naked pictures, but then finding naked pictures of Luba ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luba_Shumeyko ) isn't all that challenging. Is she hot? She's skinny with big, real boobs and a cute, Russian face and she only ever seems to wear wear any clothes so she has something to take off seductively, so yeah, I'd say she's pretty hot.
Glad you're still reading. :)
The livejournal thing's just too easy, with nifty Windows clients and things, and it's kinda devloved over the last year to where I'm mostly posting either small, bullet point lists or announcements directed at people on my friends list. And I've never really felt any of that was worth bringing over here.
I don't want to completely shut this thing down, but as time goes on, it seems to be losing out to livejournal more and more. And I'm thinking if I'm going to keep flyingsquirrel.ca around as a blog, it's probably going to change. I just haven't decided what it's going to change *into*.

Oh, any interesting astrology blogs outt here? I'm wondering how/if people are reacting to the new definition of a planet, Pluto, 2003 UB313/"Xena", Ceres and all that.

For that, you can catch a discussion that is just starting to emerge (yah, you'll notice I had some things to say, heh) at nodeorama.com :
http://www.nodeorama.com/viewtopic.php?pid=32668#p32668
Most of the people there are either actual astrologers, or have studied it quite a bit and know far more than the average moron.
The other astro site (a true blog) that I check every day is:
http://www.elsaelsa.com/
Chick is a kick-in-the-pants, and she also will post some good links in some of her entries. It doesn't usually take that long to read, and once in awhile she'll lead you to really good stuff. Her site is how I discovered nodeorama.
As for *your* postings, well, don't ditch me entirely, ok? You'll notice the email is a bit changed, so if you shut down here let me know where you've gone, please. I would truly miss my Squirrel were he to run off completely...

Just to second that there's somebody else out there watching...
Then again, I'm also watching LJ.
But to be honest, I pretty much keep pace by following the RSS...

I have many love for RSS. But yeah, I figured you probably wouldn't be horribly shattered if this site went away (temporarily or otherwise...)

I thought all the 14-year-old emo kids moved over to myspace?

I suppose so. Maybe it's just the 20-something emo kids on lj nowadays.
