Elegy for an email address

I think I lost my csclub address.

The CSC decommissioned peri and replaced her with caffeineI've emailed the CSC about it, but they haven't replied. A bunch of stuff broke in the move, but I'm guessing my circa 1997 procmail config didn't. I've emailed them asking about it, but I haven't heard back.

I don't think there's much point in pressing the issue. I'm not a student anymore, and technically I'm not supposed to have an account. I still have my login; it's just mail that's broken. I don't have much of a need for the account anymore, though. The extra web space is marginally useful, I suppose, and it's nice to have somewhere I can (almost) always SSH into, but I was prepared to pay them $2/term forever just to keep that email address. If it's going to stay broken, though, I don't think I'll press the issue. I've got lots of other addresses. It's kinda sad all the same.

One of those addresses is hidden under that little ASCII squirrel link if you need it. I'm not sure if that's the one I'd put on a business card, but it works, and will keep working forever, unless somebody hijacks my domain.
