Back in Belleville

Thanks to everyone for the condolences. They're appreciated. :)

The visitation is going to be Thursday night, until 9. My parents are going to stay over in Ottawa and get up around 5am so my dad can get into work in time. Which means even if I did get back to Waterloo for about noon on Wednesday, there's no way I'd be up to doing any actual work. And I can't afford to take three days off work right now. (My code freeze deadline is theoretically a week from Tuesday. At this rate I'll be working next weekend as well. I gotta get stuff done).

So I'm not going to Ottawa. I'll head back to Waterloo when my parents and sister leave on Tuesday.

I'm okay with this, really. My uncle's telling people he's not expecting anyone to come to the visitation; that it's just for coworkers and friends in Ottawa. They want people to come to the service in June, and I will, but telling people not to bother with the visitation is kinda silly. My parents are going, and my sisters will be there. I'm glad I came home, all the same. My mom seems better now that my sister and I are here.

My parents and sister will be going out to the hockey game tonight. (My mom had a "do you think it'd be okay?" moral dilemma about it, but I told her to go). I'll be staying home, logged into corporate VPN, to see if I can close off a couple of bugs.
