best ever?

I'm glad I managed to clear my plate before the holidays. Now that I'm back, I've got a bunch of different things to occupy my time. All of them are going to require a bit of ramping up before I can get into them, so I don't feel like I actually did anything today. Emails sent out to clarify, installing a bunch of crap and getting myself reacquainted with my old sandboxes doesn't really seem like work to me. I should be able to start to get things working tomorrow.

It could be worse. The guy next to me came in this morning and found out he was being shipped off to Minnesota next week. Now that'd be fun.

Over all, I'd say my holiday was pretty great. Christmas was nice, and people really liked the stuff I got them, I think. Santa was nice to me, too, although a communications mix up meant my mother was somehow able to convince my sister that I wanted the Best of Rod Stewart CD and the Clay Aiken Christmas album. I'm still trying to figure that one out, but they thought it was funny, at least...

Much of the week between Christmas and New Year's was spent lazing around the house. I spent some time on that Azureus CLI idea, but never really got anywhere. Java's still kind of irritating for some things. I'm still trying to figure out how to run my code in Azureus' JVM so I can use Java pipes instead of sockets or something (I read it was possible, but I never found out how). I might get back to it. Or I might not. I can kind of do what I want to do with the Azureus IRC plug-in, although I don't actually like IRC.

I also ate too much food

New Year's Eve was also pretty good. A big party probably isn't the best date setting early on (well, for me anyway), but I wanted to do it, and I think it was good in the end. And it's good to just hang out, you know? Many thanks to the people in Limbo for holding the thing.

If everything works out the way I want it to (which, I realize, is a lot to ask for), 2005 could end up being the best year ever. It certainly has the potential.
