GTA:SA and a Happy 41st

I was up till about 2 last night playing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It was a bit slow to start, but I'm liking it more the more I play it. My lord, the game world is huge. I've just opened up Las Venturas last night, so I finally managed to get access to a helicopter. Just one, but it makes getting around a bit easier. I'm taking a break from the missions and finding collectibles and finishing assets for the time being... getting some money and buying up the remaining properties in Los Santos and San Fierro.

Some of the music is good, but I'm not quite as keen on it as I was most of the Vice City sountrack. You can't buy the radio station CDs individually like you could with Vice City, though. That makes me a bit sad. I want an SF-UR CD. I guess this forces me to buy the box set, even if it does mean I have to get the CD for the country station, too. Most of the other music stations I can either take or leave, although there are some good tracks here and there.

I had meant to put some serious effort into cleaning out the apartment last weekend. That didn't happen. Oh well. I did clean the bathroom. Well... the counter, anyway. Maybe next weekend.

Tomorrow's the 41st anniversary of the premier of Doctor Who. I've been mulling over the idea of using this as an excuse for a party for a while now, but never really thought anybody'd be interested. (It doesn't help that is usually coincides with a CTRL-A weekend). I'll do what I usually do: pull a DVD off the shelf and watch it. This time, I've got the Lost in Time collection, nearly all of which I've never seen before.
