Riboflavin!

I've been on this diet thing since the beginning of the year. Honestly, no complaints. If I'd known how relatively painless this was, I'd have done it years and years ago. You just have to know what you're doing.

That's the catch, really.

A couple of days ago, the left side of my mouth started to crack. Annoying, but I figured it was just winter's last, flailing swipe in its long onslaught of annoyances. Then today, the other side of my mouth started to crack as well. And I went "Hunh, that's weird."

Now I'm always a bit skeptical in googling up medical symptoms, but hey, check it out. Riboflavin deficiency. And then I'd realized I'd been slacking off on the multivitamin. Well that explains feeling all lethargic and light-headed the last couple weeks. And the blood-shot eyes. And the dry skin.

I have to admit... I started out well doing the whole balanced diet thing (albeit a reduced one), I'd gotten lazy the last little while.

Okay, so that was dumb. I took a double-dose of the multi-vitamin. Now, miraculously, the right corner of my mouth is nearly normal. The left has to heal up a bit. Good old riboflavin.

I keep forgetting that I'm... you know... mortal. There are actually consequences to getting this stuff wrong. Who knew?
