Apparently you can keep your DSL connection if you don\'t turn off the modem thingy even if your phone\'s been cut off. So I have Internet for a little while longer at least. The DSL guy phoned this morning (I got the message at the house) and was kind enough to tell me that if I\'d given them about 5 days notice, they\'d\'ve been able to switch me over the same day the phone switched over. Alas, I fall victim to my own procrastination again. Oh, and they\'re stupid dumbheads too. I needed to get that off my chest.
I\'m making real progress packing now. I sure didn\'t have all this stuff when I moved in here four or so years ago. God I have a lot of stuff. This will probably be my last (and only, for that matter) pizza and beer move. This should go pretty well (barring the small wrinkle I\'m coming to in a minute), but the more stuff I get, the less I feel like I can ask a favour like this.
The wrinkle I mentioned? Oh, apparently there\'s a big winter storm watch tomorrow. Two weeks of beautiful spring weather, coasting along at 10 degrees centigrade with narry a snow flake or rain drop (well, not many) in sight, and now, the weekend I have to move, there\'s a freaking winter storm watch. 10-15cm, they\'re saying. Hopefully it\'ll come a little late, but I think that\'s probably too much to hope for. At least they left me a shovel at the house...
In just a minute, I\'m heading off to Eric\'s concert. This probably isn\'t a very good idea and I should be packing instead. On the other hand, a break would be nice.
