it's over!
We finally (finally!!) release the thing I've been working on for the last—God—three months. That sounds shorter than it feels. It was supposed to be a quick patch thing, but it just never ended. Until now. It's over. I can go onto the next thing. Well, except for the bugs that got deferred to the next patch and release.
I came into work at 9 last night for an hour just to make sure a last minute bug was deferrable. And it was, so I went home and watched the rest of Invader Zim. That made me happy again.
I demoed it to a potential customer today. He was really nice about the whole thing, even though I managed to mess up the one complicated part of the demo. That's lack of preparation for you. He didn't seem to notice, so it was all good. It sounded like the guy were were demoing to was already sold. He just had to convince other people to go with us.
As a small follow-up, I've pretty much settled on getting the Tungsten W through Rogers. I think I've managed to answer all my questions (no thanks to Rogers' support people, obviously). I don't relish paying another $35/month, but this could be cool. I ran into a friend and former coworker at RIM who said I could get one of the old monochrome blackberry phones for $ 300, but I'm not seeing that on websites. Oh well. Colour is a nice thing to have anyway.
