yeah, it sucks
Yeah, CN Anime sucks the big one. I had to see for myself.
It wasn't any better or worse than I was expecting, really. CN Anime is what it is. It doesn't have that frustrating, so-much-wasted-potential feeling that Anime North has. Because you pretty much go in knowing it sucks and you know the only reason you spent the $40 was to get into the dealer's room. Because that's all you needed the pass for. At least they're up front about it.

So I'm happy.
I hate getting autographs, but I knew I'd regret it if I didn't.
I spent way too much money at this thing. I guess I figured since I already spent $40 for the opportunity to spend money on crap, I might as well buy a whole lot of crap. Here's the list, in rough order of purchase:
- A bunch of issues of the old 80s Marvel Doctor Who comic.
- Count Duckula issue 1, just because.
- Jojo's Bizarre Adventures DVD vol.1
- Kindaichi's Case Files manga vol.1
- Alien 9 manga vol.1
- 2 Sakura posters for Dan.
- Utena DVD vol. 7 with box.
- Megatokyo manga vol.1 (signed)
- Broken Miho poster
Then I ran out of cash. Two trips to the bank machine for one con is quite enough.
As an opportunity to hang out with people, it was pretty much a failure. That was probably my fault. I would have stayed longer to see if there were any further hanging out opportunities, but I couldn't bring myself to sit through the masquerade. It was pretty packed, so I decided to give up my seat to somebody who (I assume) actually wanted it. I have a headache and my feet are sore. Home is a good place to be right now.
