Darcy Casselman's weblog. Just like old times.

waking from a restless sleep

I've been sick with a cold for the last few days. This is bad. I have a rather immovable deadline on Thursday and progress has been slow. Progress has been even slower since I can't manage to think straight.

Today I'm feeling a bit better, and starting to get a grasp on all the dumb things my sick-addled brains has done in its attempts to get things done. Coding, unfortunately, doesn't require an enormous amount of brain power. Debugging, however, does. It was a valiant show of determination on my part, but for the amount I actually got done in terms of useful work, I probably should have stayed home these last few days. This has been noted for similar situations in the future.

I got the last episode of the Dalek Empire series in the mail last week. I finished listening to it in the car today. I have to say I was well pleased. The surprise ending was wonderful, if a bit abrupt (like the ending to War of the Worlds, in a way). I won't spoil it for you, as I'm sure you're all eager to order it for yourself. I really should write Big Finish a thank you letter (mentioning off-hand that it would be a very good idea for them to do an Abslom Daak play one of these days...). I love audio dramas. It's a shame that it seems to be a lost art in this part of the world.
