i really should buy a car
There's a bunch of stuff I want to do this weekend. Not having a car makes most of them difficult.
Actually, that's not true. Most of them aren't so much difficult as less convenient. I really want to get down to the ( somewhat) new K-W International Cinema to see what they're like. They're playing Wild/White Cherries ( aka Gelbe Kirschen) tomorrow, which looks... German (well, Austrian). I dunno. It may be pretty indifferent, and I can see random German (or even Austrian) movies at the Princess, but I just... I don't know. I want to see it, okay? Sheesh, what do you people want from me, anyway?!
Um, yeah...
I also have this strange yen to go to the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games. For no particular reason. This one, however, is nigh on impossible to get to without a car. In fact, most of the reason I wanted to get a car is so that, on a whim, I can go to crazy stuff like this. But I don't have a car. If I want to do stuff like this, I have to plan months ahead of time. And even when I do—this summer's vowed trip to the Stratford Festival (finally!)—it doesn't seem to happen. Of course, the problem with Stratford this year is that there isn't anything playing that I feel hugely driven to see... Not so much that I feel like going to the trouble of figuring out bus schedules and the like...
The reason I don't have a car yet mostly stems from my unsurpassed ability to procrastinate when faced with having to talk to sales people. This also (partly) explains why I'm still wearing shoes with very large holes in them.
So, as you can see, today's entry is basically just me whining about stuff. Tune in next week for me whining about different stuff!
